Tips for a perfect frog
- Flatten the leg tops neatly before round 7 of the body, so the legs hang straight.
- Stuff the body as you go, firmly enough to keep its round shape.
- Pin the eyes and arms in place and look from the front before you sew them on.
- Embroider the mouth with a few long stitches for a big, happy smile.
Questions
Is this frog pattern good for beginners?
It is an intermediate pattern. If you can crochet in the round with increases and decreases, you can make it; joining the legs in round 7 is the only part that needs a little care.
How are the legs attached?
The legs are crocheted into the body in round 7: you work 2 sc through the flattened top of each leg and the body together, so there is nothing to sew.
What yarn and hook do I need?
Sport weight yarn in green and white, a little yarn for the bow, black thread for the face and a 1.75 mm hook.
Can I sell the frogs I make?
Yes. You are welcome to sell the finished frogs you make from this pattern, and a credit to Crochet Simplified with a link to crochetsimplified.com is appreciated. Please do not share, copy or sell the pattern itself.
Is there a printable version?
Yes. The free PDF has the whole pattern with the photos. Download it, open it on your phone or print the pages you need.
